How Do I Keep My Floors Looking Shiny?
It goes without saying that increased foot traffic requires more frequent cleanings. Using a microfiber dust mop can help remove grime that would otherwise become ground into the floor. Follow this with regular wet mopping – heavy traffic requires daily mopping while light traffic may require weekly mopping.
Placing mats at entryways to collect dirt from visitors’ shoes will also help reduce unwanted grime from reaching your floors.
When Should I Have My VCT Flooring Deep Cleaned?
Regular maintenance will keep your floors looking cleaner for a longer period of time. However, eventually you will need your VCT flooring deep cleaned to remove the damage caused by factors like sun exposure and plain old wear and tear. You can tell this type of damage has occurred when your wax coat appears dull, yellowish and grimy.
To deep clean VCT flooring, the top layer(s) of wax are stripped off, taking with them ground in dirt and grime. Once removed, new layers of wax are applied and then buffed, leaving you with floors that look brand new!
